“When my Physician saw that I was not doing a good enough job getting my sugar levels under control, I was referred to the Wellness, Education, and Outreach department. My numbers are much better and I am on my way to a full recovery.”
Craig, a former superintendent of an apartment complex found himself out of a job during a steep decline in the economy. Fresh out of work and no promise of a new job Craig began to do as many others in his position. He used the computer, watched television and gained weight due to lack of activity and exercise. As a result of this his health was no longer intact. After obtaining medical insurance he was referred to our West Haven office. It was then that Craig was diagnosed with Diabetes.
Faced with this new diagnosis and haunted by old habits, Craig’s Provider took notice that he needed guidance on his journey back to health. Craig was enrolled in one of the preventive health programs which promote healthy living. This program has made all of the difference in Craig’s life. Craig was given more than a diagnosis of diabetes; he was given the tools and skills to maintain lifelong healthy behaviors.
